Data:	Latest release: Finnish enterprises around the world: nearly 5,000 affiliates in 120 countries in 2009 09 Jun 2011 Finnish enterprises had business activity in affiliates located in 120 countries in 2009. Measured by the number of personnel, the activity in affiliates abroad concentrated in Europe and Asia. The personnel abroad totalled over 566,000, of whom good one-third worked in old EU countries, one-fifth in Asia and Oceania and one-fifth in new EU countries. Examined by country, the numbers of personnel were the highest in Sweden, Russia, China and Germany. These data were produced by Statistics Finland, and they are based on an inquiry of enterprises. Description:	The statistics describe the global location of Finnish enterprises’ activities and the significance of these activities abroad. The statistics produce data which enable an assessment of the level of globalisation of Finland's economy, the effect of the European Union’s internal market on Finnish business activities and the global competitiveness of Finnish-owned enterprises. Change:	Change in the Official Statistics of Finland 25 May 2009 On 25 May 2009, the Advisory Board of Official Statistics of Finland accepted the statistics " Finnish affiliates abroad " into Official Statistics of Finland under the topic of Enterprises.
