Statistics: structural business and financial statement statistics

The group of statistical units of non-profit institutions serving households published in connection with the structural business and financial statement statistics is extended starting from the statistical reference year 2022. Limitations concerning the operating time and size of institutions have been removed from the definition of statistical units. Previously the statistics included only institutions that had operated for at least six months in the statistical reference year and had wage and salary earners and/or self-employed persons amounting to over 0.5 staff-years in the statistical reference year.

In future, the statistics will include all non-profit institutions serving households that have had any wage and salary earners or self-employed persons in the statistical reference year. The extension of statistical units has been carried out as part of the implementation of the new EU Regulation on European business statistics (EBS), even though the statistics on non-profit institutions serving households are excluded from the regulation. EU grant funding has been received for the renewal of statistics compilation in 2020 to 2022.
