According to Statistics Finland, blocks of flats completed most in terms of floor area in 2020 to 2023 had a combined completed floor area nearly two times bigger than that of one-dwelling and two-dwelling houses. Measured by floor area, warehouses were completed third most. The number of free-time residences completed was highest in Kittilä.

Key selections

  • In 2020 to 2023, most free-time residences were completed in Kittilä, Kolari and Kuusamo.
  • The total number of free-time residences decreased from 2022. The reason for this is partly the removal of free-time residences from the register and changes in the intended use.
  • There were 503,750 free-time residences at the end of 2023.
  • The number of free-time residences was highest in Kuopio and Mikkeli.
