Returns on foreign direct investments (FDI) record high in 2022

According to Statistics Finland, Finnish investors generated returns on outward FDI totalling EUR 14.8 billion, and foreign investors on inward FDI totalling EUR 7.9 billion. Thus, the net effect of direct investments on the primary income account of the current account in 2022 was record high, EUR 6.9 billion. The previous record level was EUR 5.8 billion in 2020.
