Non-subsidised rents increased 1.4 per cent in January to March 2024

According to Statistics Finland, rents of non-subsidised dwellings increased by 0.4 per cent in Greater Helsinki and by 2.1 per cent in a year in the rest of Finland in January to March 2024. The rents of non-subsidised rental dwellings rose most in Oulu (2.9 %), Hämeenlinna (2.6 %) and Rovaniemi (1.5 %) and least in Espoo (0.3 %), Vantaa (0.3 %) and Rauma (0.3 %).

Key selections

  • Rents in non-subsidised dwellings have risen most from the previous year in one-room flats in Oulu by 3.6 per cent, in two-room flats in Hämeenlinna by 2.5 per cent and in family dwellings in Hämeenlinna by 3.3 per cent.
  • Rents of non-subsidised one-room flats increased by 0.2 per cent in Greater Helsinki. Rents of one-room flats went up by 1.9 per cent in the rest of Finland.
  • Rents of government-subsidised dwellings went up by 5.2 per cent in Greater Helsinki and by 4.2 per cent in the rest of the country in a year.
  • Rents of government-subsidised dwellings rose most in Kouvola 10,6 %, Hämeenlinna 6,7 % ja Helsinki 6,1 %.
