Industrial output grew by 8.9 per cent in December

According to Statistics Finland, output of total industries adjusted for working days was 8.9 per cent higher in December than twelve months earlier. In December, seasonally adjusted output increased by one per cent relative to November.

Adjusted for working days, industrial output grew by 8.5 per cent in December from one year back. The biggest output increase of nearly 31 per cent was recorded in the textile, clothing and leather industry. The manufacture of other transport equipment increased by 24.8 per cent. Output of sawn timber adjusted for working days was 4.9 per cent up year-on-year in December. The manufacture of paper products increased by 6.6 per cent. The manufacture of beverages was the only industry where output decreased in December. Its output went down by 21.5 per cent.
