Building costs rose by 2.7 per cent in December

Building costs were 2.7 per cent higher in December 2011 than in December 2010. Labour costs in construction rose by 2.1 per cent and prices of materials by 2.3 per cent in the year. Those of other inputs rose by 6.0 per cent. This is indicated by the Building Cost Index of Statistics Finland 2010=100.

From November to December the total index was unchanged. The prices for labour rose by 0.5 per cent, whereas the prices of materials fell by 0.1 per cent. The prices of other inputs rose by 0.3 per cent.
