Building costs rose by 3.7 per cent in April

Building costs were 3.7 per cent higher in April 2011 than in April 2010. Labour costs in construction rose by 2.0 per cent and prices of materials by 4.4 per cent in the year. Those of other inputs rose by 4.7 per cent. This is indicated by the Building Cost Index of Statistics Finland.

From March to April, the total index rose by 0.5 per cent. The prices for labour rose by 0.5 per cent and the prices of materials by 0.9 per cent. The prices for those of other inputs fell by 1.2 per cent.
