Sales of retail trade grew by 5,0 per cent in January

According to Statistics Finland, retail trade sales rose by 5.0 per cent in January from January 2010. Sales volume also grew by 2.9 per cent during the same time period. Wholesale trade sales went up by 15.9 per cent and motor vehicle sales by 23.6 per cent. In total trade sales increased by 13.4 per cent in January.

Over the year 2010, retail trade turnover grew by 3.9 per cent from the previous year. Wholesale trade sales went up by 9.3 per cent and motor vehicle sales by 18.9 per cent. Compared to the previous year, sales in total trade increased by 8.7 per cent over the year.
