Description

The statistics on financial leasing contain data by sector, industry and object on the financial leasing activities of credit institutions and other lessors.

Data content

Financial leasing represents long-term renting in which the financier obtains ownership of the object needed by the lessee and leases it back on a long-term lease agreement. The examination does not extend to direct leasing or financing of leasing agreements.

Unit-specific data must be kept undislosed.

Classification of institutional sectors, Standard industrial classification.

Data collection methods and data sources

The data are collected direct for lessors. Starting from the data for 1995, the data suppliers have been the units that according to Statistics Finland Business Register have practised leasing activity. Prior to this, the data suppliers were credit institutions only.

Updating frequency

Annually.

Time of completion or release

In April.

A comparable time series is available starting from 1995.
