PRODCOM classification is used for compiling statistics of industrially produced goods and industrial services in the EU and its member states.

Starting from 2018 the classification lacks all hierarchy.

The detailed nationally defined product items have been abolished from 2018 onwards. The nationally defined supplement codes have been harmonized with CPA classification.

A small subset of the codes are nationally defined supplements to cover a product spectrum broader than the EU statistics do.
