This must be checked separately from the registration authorities or the Business Information System website (www.ytj.fi).

The industry of the enterprise is defined in accordance with Statistics Finland's Standard Industrial Classification 2008. Industry is defined independently for all enterprises and establishments proper at the most detailed level of the industrial classification. The industry of an ancillary establishment is generally the same as the enterprise's main industry.
The main industry of a multiple-establishment enterprise is determined by the value added produced in the enterprise's establishments engaged in different industries. The value added is closely equivalent to increase in value. The value added of each of the enterprise's industries is obtained by multiplying the number of persons employed in each establishment by the average value added of the industry in question and by proportioning the obtained figure to the time the establishment has operated in the accounting period of the reference year. The main industry of the enterprise is the industry with the largest value added in the accounting period. The definition of the main industry proceeds in stages from section (alphabetical code) to the most detailed level.
The personnel comprise employees and self-employed persons. The personnel are converted into full-year employees so that one half-day employee corresponds to half a person and two half-day employees to one full-year employee. Personnel for enterprises not included in the inquiries of the Register of Enterprises and Establishments are estimated from wages and salaries.
