For some time now the Financial Supervisory Authority, the Bank of Finland and Statistics Finland have been collaborating to harmonise and develop the data contents, classifications and reporting tool applications of the system for credit institutions' reporting to the authorities (Virati).
The collaboration takes place in a permanent Virati co-operation group, where data collections and the associated concepts are defined and Virati collections are thus maintained. In addition, data are also collected separately by each authority concerned, and these collections are defined using the Virati concept where applicable (see data collection map). Each authority collects data within the scope of its own authority, and this is reflected in the defining of the collections. Some of the data are located on each authority's own web pages.
The Virati website contains, among other things:
NB! The Virati pages do not contain the reporting applications needed in data collections. These can be downloaded via the home page of the Financial Supervisory Authority. This service has also been executed as a joint project of the Financial Supervisory Authority, the Bank of Finland and Statistics Finland. Having obtained user names and passwords, data suppliers can use the distribution service facility to download installation packages for the data collection applications designed for the reporting to the authorities. No user names or passwords are required to access the Virati web pages. These can be downloaded via Statistics Finland's website.
Statistics Finland is responsible for the updating of the Virati website. The Financial Supervisory Authority and the Bank of Finland are responsible for the ADP implementation of the service for distributing the data collection applications. Whenever there is a change in the situation, Statistics Finland makes the reporting applications it maintains available to the distribution channel.
