A household-dwelling unit is formed by all people living permanently in the same dwelling. When a household is formed by people with a shared household, this definition of household-dwelling unit is not applied.
The household-dwelling unit is nowadays used in Finland and Denmark because in these countries population statistics are compiled by utilising various administrative registers.
