The Statistical Yearbook of Finland, published since 1879, is a definitive compilation of Finnish statistic. Even the very first Yearbook already contained highly diversified information on the population, housing, trades and public finances of Finland, then an autonomous Grand Duchy of Russia. As decades have passed the amount of information in the Yearbook has multiplied many times over and it has become established as a primary compendium of Finnish statistics.
The first Yearbook had 56 pages and 50 tables. Today, the publication has over 700 pages and about 700 tables. The volume includes more than one hundred pages of international statistics.
Detailed source references given in each table make it easy for the reader to trace the origins of the data. There is also an alphabetical index. The Yearbook comes complete with a CD-ROM containing all its printed data in Excel format, which allows for easy editing. Online version of the Yearbook is available.
The tables in the Yearbook are organised into the following categories:
| 4.1 | 4.2 | 4.3 | 4.4 |
