Road traffic accidents claimed 18 lives in January

According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 297 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in January. In them, 18 persons were killed and 379 persons injured. The number of persons killed was eight higher and that of persons injured 51 lower than in January 2017.

Of the persons who were killed, 15 travelled by passenger car and one by van. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered two. Among those who died, 11 were men and seven were women.
