According to Statistics Finland, producer prices for manufactured products rose by 5.2 per cent, export prices by 4.9 per cent and import prices by 8.2 per cent from June 2009 to June 2010. The basic price index for domestic supply went up by 5.7 per cent in the year. The year-on-year change in the wholesale price index also amounted to 5.7 per cent.
The rise in the producer prices for manufactured products was caused by increased prices of, for instance, oil products and pulp from the previous year's June. The rise was curbed by falls in the prices of electronic products.
From May to June producer prices for manufactured products rose by 0.5 per cent. The primary reason for the rise in the prices was increase in the price of pulp. The rise was curbed by fallen prices of non-ferrous metals.
