The fall in working day adjusted turnover and sales volume of construction enterprises continued in December. According to Statistics Finland, turnover adjusted for working days went down by 3.7 per cent compared to the year before. The volume of sales, from which the impact of prices has been eliminated, fell by 3.3 per cent. Among construction industries, turnover and sales volume declined in building construction and specialised construction activities. In civil engineering, turnover and sales volume continued to grow strongly.

Description: The index of turnover of construction describes monthly development in the turnover of construction companies. The examined variable is domestic turnover, formed of domestic sales subject to value added tax. The data used for calculating the variable are exclusive of value added tax. In addition, a volume index of sales is produced on construction that measures the development of output in the construction industry.
