Turnover of construction enterprises grew by 17.2 per cent in the April to June period
The turnover of construction enterprises grew by 17.2 per cent in the April to June period of 2008 when compared with the corresponding three-month period of the year before. In June 2008, construction enterprises' turnover grew by 13.8 per cent from the previous June. These data derive from the preliminary index of turnover of construction compiled by Statistics Finland.
In the April to June period the turnover of building construction enterprises grew by 17.0 per cent and that of civil engineering construction enterprises by 17.8 per cent from the corresponding period of the year before.
The sales volume of construction enterprises grew by 10.6 per cent in the April to June period when compared with the corresponding period of the year before. The sales volume of building construction enterprises in the corresponding period grew by 11.2 per cent and that of civil engineering construction enterprises by 8.4 per cent. In June 2008 the sales volume of construction enterprises grew by 7.4 per cent from June 2007. The sales volume of building construction enterprises grew by 7.5 per cent in June and that of civil engineering construction enterprises grew by 7.1 per cent when compared with June 2007.
The volume index of enterprises' sales is calculated by removing the effect of price changes from the turnover index series. Building costs rose by 4.5 per cent from June 2007 to June 2008.
