Cubic volume covered by granted building permits grew further

According to Statistics Finland, in March to May 2016, building permits were granted for a total of 11.8 million cubic metres, which is 17.1 per cent more than one year ago. The growth was particularly due to the cubic volume of building permits granted for commercial and office buildings. The 24.0 per cent growth in the volume of construction of commercial and office buildings is explained by building permits granted for new shopping centre projects.
