Goods transport by road

Goods transported by lorries in domestic transport decreased in July to September 2011

In the third quarter of 2011, the volume of goods transported by lorries in domestic road transport decreased by 22 per cent from the corresponding quarter of 2010. A total of 74 million tonnes of goods were transported by lorries during the July to September period of 2011. Twenty-six per cent less of soil materials and 19 per cent less of other materials were transported than in the July to September period of 2010.
