The aim of the inquiry is to establish the value of trade and manufacturing enterprises by type of goods (materials and supplies, fuels and lubricants, unfinished work, finished products and merchandise) at the end of quarters. The inquiry includes some 300 trade enterprises and 450 manufacturing enterprises. The sample is formed by selecting to the sample the most significant enterprises measured by their turnover. Enterprises' obligation to provide data is based on the Statistics Act (280/2004), which obliges Statistics Finland to treat the data as confidential. The data can be returned on a paper form or via the Internet in the electronic response service.
