The data collection on personnel of multi-establishment enterprises for employment statistics collects names and personal identification data of enterprises' personnel by establishment. Employment statistics are annual statistics providing data by region on the population’s economic activity and employment.
The population for the statistics is the permanently resident population in the country on the last day of the year. The data are mainly derived from administrative registers and statistical data files. The produced data describe the population’s main type of activity, business distribution, status in occupation, number of workplaces, location of workplace, and education and income of the population and labour force.The inquiry is sent as a joint inquiry with the Business Register to multi-establishment enterprises with at least ten employees. The inquiry covers annually approximately 5,700 enterprises. The inquiry is sent out in two lots in January and February. Some of the enterprises (non-profit corporations, organisations, etc.) are only included annually in the employment statistics inquiry. In addition, some of the enterprises are also included in the inquiry concerning occupations (unorganised employers).The obligation to provide data is based on the Statistics Act (280/2004). The data will be used confidentially and only for statistical purposes. Data collected for statistical purposes must be kept confidential by law. The data are used primarily for the compilation of register-based employment statistics. The data may also be used for Statistics Finland's other statistics and studies, and released for scientific research or statistical surveys concerning social conditions by virtue of Section 13 of the Statistics Act.The data can be returned electronically via the Internet, on paper questionnaires or as a file on diskette.The inquiry is sent as a joint inquiry with the Business Register to multi-establishment enterprises with at least ten employees. The inquiry covers annually approximately 5,700 enterprises.
The collected data concerning individual persons will be treated confidentially and used only for statistical purposes.
