The aim of the inquiry is to find out the value of new orders received during the month that are meant to be produced by establishments located in Finland. The inquiry is monthly and the statistics are based on a sample to which have been selected around 420 data providers, which are industrial enterprises or parts of enterprises operating in manufacturing (the so-called production unit). The data should be submitted to Statistics Finland around 20 days from the end of the statistical month. Enterprises' obligation to provide data is based on the Statistics Act (280/2004), which obliges Statistics Finland to treat the data as confidential.
The data can be returned on a paper form or through the Internet in the electronic response service.Enterprises operating in manufacturing or production units.
