In the collection of data for statistics on international goods transport by road data are asked from owners about their lorries and their use in international transport during the survey period of at least one week.
The population for the inquiry on international goods transport by road is formed of such enterprises and own-account workers with foreign or community transport licences included in the foreign transport licence register of the State Provincial Offices which have one or more valid licences entitling them to transport goods abroad.
The obligation to provide data is based on the Statistics Act (280/2004), which obliges Statistics Finland to treat the provided data as confidential.
