Update of Statistics Finland's Internet pages underway

Statistics Finland's Internet pages will be updated during 2007. In the first phase of the update, the basic functionalities of the Internet pages have been enhanced on the basis of the usability analysis conducted at the turn of the year and the user feedback we have received. The changes can be seen as a new visual look and improved usability. The primary aim of the update is to make finding information easier. The content structure of the pages has not been changed.

Changes implemented during 2007:

The visual look and structure of the top bar of the service have been clarified. The top of the page now includes links to the home pages of the different language versions of the whole service.
The visual look of the navigation bar on the left hand side of the page has been renewed and the terms updated. The side bar now also indicates the section of the currently open page.
Each page contains a link to the possible language versions of the page and the print and text versions of the page.
The search function has been enhanced.

The stat.fi pages can now be used also with text browsers, text-to-speech readers and mobile phones.

The update of the stat.fi service continues. During the later half of the year, the content structure of the pages, among other things, will be developed further. We would appreciate your feedback and requests to support our development work.
